I consider buying the broadcaster (I used a while ago the older free version of the broadcaster). Is it possible to change the page that the user sees when he is listening to my station in WebStream format (not with the destiny player) ? It's just that I don't want my listeners to see the red pirate radio page, nor the radiodestiny page. Instead I want them to see a page that I design. I would appreciate if you can send the reply to my email as well (gal@latingate.com) Thanks Gal gal@latingate.com

Check this page: Customizing Webstream on RadioDestiny Broadcaster 3 (works for Pirate Radio as well) http://www.radiodestiny.com/help/broadcaster3/customize_webstream.html Mike Destiny Media Technologies Inc.

Seems like the webstream pages for the retail version aren't working. Most of the time nothing happens, yet they work for the beta. Maybe the thing isn't really "gold" yet. |

Well no one can connect to my station with the retail one. I have cable and 260 something in ram and 600mhz, and no one can connect but me. I've tried every setting. Is it that they don't have their windows updated for like vm and direct x or what? |

What is your station name? The requirements for RadioDestiny Broadcaster 3 have no changed from the beta to the retail version. The Java requirements for the Webstream link also remain the same. If you were able to receive listeners with the beta there shouldn't be anything preventing the same with the retail version. Destiny Support support.dsny.com

Stephen, I've tried several Webstream links on pirateradionetwork.com and they seem to be working including a couple using the retail version (Pirate Radio). Perhaps your security settings on your browser have changed between installations. Destiny Support support.dsny.com

Checked the security setting they are at default: medium. I still find some of the retail version links don't load. Haven't found any beta's that don't. Also a little window pops up from time to time that says: warning applet window and a place to click OK. Never have seen this before anywhere. |

Most Webstream links should work well for most listeners. Trouble on the broadcaster's end could be from the Webstream page being customized (as discussed in the link above) but then the IP address of the broadcasting computer getting changed since the editing took place. For the listeners, there may be some trouble with some Macintosh machines and some Windows boxes using Sun Java. This will be resolved in an upcoming release of the Pirate Radio Broadcaster when we bring the Webstream applet completely up to date with the more widely compatible Clipstream applet. Keep in mind that the on-line audience reach still exceeds 90% without any requirement for any download, installation, etc. The harmless but annoying 'warning applet window' pop-up message will be eliminated then too. Aha Mateys! Yo Ho Ho etc etc.....I have just upgraded to XP on my old computer for the Radio Mandala "Afrique" stream at 66.30.209.2 8080 but can not see a listing on the network page! I hear the stream fine from my weblinks etc. The IP is the same ...I have just wiped my harddrive and renewed the Broadcaster. Settings seem AOK. Does it take a long while to appear. Any ideas? That station is listed and it's working!!! It's in about the center of the page under "World": Radio Mandala . . .Global Groves. If you bought the retail copy of the software it is no longer part of the beta test. Were you looking in the wrong section? |

The stream I have working is Global Grooves "Une Voix" at 66.30.209.110 but my other stream at 66.30.209.2 port 8080 does not appear anywhere on the list. I can hear the stream via my web link at http://www.radiomandala.com but it does not register on the station listing. Any ideas |

You're streaming two stations on one computer? Hopefully a moderator will tell you if that's possible. I would think it would take 2 boxes and a router using port forwarding, but that's a guess. |

I am using two computers.....hence the two IP's clearly noted in my note. I have been streaming with Destiny for over a year now so I know it works through my modem the way it is. I will wait for a moderator to help. |

Stan, I will need to investigate this further. The last update I have from your station is "Sat Nov 23 13:03:20 2002", but it's still running. I need to determine if it's still contacting our server. If so then I need to figure out why the database is not updating, if not then I need to figure out why not. I'll keep you posted.

Stan, can you stop and start your station at IP 66.30.209.2. I want to see if it updates properly the first time. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of this shortly. Thanks. Mike Destiny Media Technologies Inc.

Douglas, I am using windows 98. But now I can't broadcast at all. The company that I bought my router from made me change a bunch of stuff, and now I'm not getting out at all. |

Good to hear. Keep in mind that there is a lag between when you start broadcasting to when your station appears in the PirateRadioNetwork.com page. You will also have to refresh that page. Destiny Support support.dsny.com

Customizing the Clipstream (WebStream) page in the Broadcaster. When creating your custom page (radiodestiny.htm) you can use some variables in your code that will be replaced by the Pirate Radio Broadcaster before sending the page to the user. This is very handy if your IP/port changes or you update settings like your station name, description, etc. The list of available variables are:
| %NAME% | (station settings dialog) | | %EMAIL% | (station settings dialog) | | %LOCATION% | (station settings dialog) | | %DESCRIPTION% | (station settings dialog) | | %GENRE% | (station settings dialog) | | %LINK% | (station settings dialog) | | %CODEBASE% | You can use these so that you don't have to update your radiodestiny.htm page every time your IP changes or you make changes to your station settings. You would use it something like this: radiodestiny.htm --------------------------------------- <html> <head> <title>%NAME%</title> </head> <body> <p>My station name is %NAME%, I broadcast form %LOCATION%.</p> <applet codebase="http://%CODEBASE%/" ARCHIVE="WebPlayer.zip" CODE="webplayer.class" ... [SNIP A BUNCH OF CODE] ... </applet> <a href="mailto:%EMAIL%">Email me</a> </body> </html> --------------------------------------- I hope that helps Mike Destiny Media Technologies Inc.
